jewelThe Jewel Box Theatre, the longest-running community theater in Oklahoma City (51 years and counting), currently has two great plays that you can catch.  I have only seen one of them but plan to take in the second one in the next few months.  Luckily a play called “Coming Back to Jersey” has a lengthy run, through May 9th of 2010, so I have time to get to that one.

The one I saw, “Auntie Mame”, runs through September 13th, 2009, and was as funny as I hoped it would be.  It had the ever hillarious character Mame introducing her nephew to a bunch of goofy characters so he can learn about life, unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, through her eyes.

The show times are 8pm Wednesday through Saturday and 230pm on Sunday.  Adult admission is $15 for plays, $18 for musicals and $10 for students across the board.  The Jewel Box Theatre is located at 3700 N Walker Ave.

Call 405-521-1786 for reservations.

Oh, by the way, “And Then There Were None”, by Agatha Christie, is coming in October.  Another favorite I won’t miss!

Here is information on more theater options in the Oklahoma City area.
