recycleI know we won’t be taking our christmas trees down for several days yet, but I want to share some information for recycling with those who had a live tree this year.  The Oklahoman put out a lot of useful information.  Each community in the Oklahoma City area will dispose of the trees just a little differently, but the key thing is that we all recycle!

  • In metro Oklahoma City you will leave your tree on the curb for the monthly bulk-waste day.
  • Edmond will be mulching the trees that are dropped off at the Hafer and Mitch Parks.  There is a plan in place for you to come back after February 12th, 2010 and pick up the mulch if you choose.
  • Midwest City residents will take trees to the recycling center at 8730 SE 15th.
  • Norman is picking up christmas trees.  If they are longer than six feet, please cut them in half.
  • Warr Acres residents should cut their trees into 4-foot (but under 50 pound) bundles for pick up.
  • Both the Village and Nichols Hills will pick up trees at the curb on regular pick-up days.

Contact any of the recycling centers for more information in the Oklahoma City area.
