Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park is celebrating its 25th season of bringing classical theatre projects to Oklahoma City.  The new board president, Larry Alley, emphasizes that it is the third year the performances have taken place at the Myriad Garden Water Stage.  He vows that their new downtown home will continue to grow over the next few years and he pledges to build on the momentum of the organization. 

Beginning Thursday July 30th through August 22nd, 2009 Hamlet will be presented each Thursday through Saturday evening at 8pm.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors, and groups.  Tickets are available each night of a performance at the OSP Box Office at 7pm (or online, but a convenience charge may apply).

Most of us remember Hamlet from our reading list when we were in school.  I know I never really appreciated it when I was younger.  I look forward to seeing the play performed.  It’s been described as “poetry and passion at its best”.  This play has all the makings of a good revenge drama; killer kings, mad maidens, gravediggers, and of course ghosts!
