emmy awardWe Oklahomans are having a big year for stars on television.  First, we have two of the 16 contestants on The Biggest Loser hailing from Oklahoma (Sean from Tulsa and Danny from Broken Arrow).  Second, the first award given out this evening at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards went to another native of Broken Arrow.

She is Kristin Chenoweth and she won the Emmy for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.  She joked that her series, Pushing Daisies, has since been cancelled, but accepted the award nevertheless.  I saw Kristin in her role as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway in NYC.  I had no idea she could sing!  After the play I went right out and purchased the CD so I could hear her over and over.

Both of these parts were a far cry from her role on West Wing.  Man, what diversity!

Anyway, check out the other award winners of the night.  Neil Patrick Harris (of Doogie Howser and How I Met Your Mother fame) hosted the show brilliantly.  It was fun and funny and most of my favorites won.  I admit it.  I am an award show junkie!

There’s lots of options for entertainment in the Oklahoma City area beyond just what’s on the television.
